“Learning never exhausts the mind.”
21 Weeks - The building blocks of a story
September 5th - January 22nd
Learn to tell a story in photographs, one picture at a time. Through 21 Weeks you will be given weekly assignments to prompt your understanding of how a basic photographic story structure works when building a series. This workshop has different levels of commitment and has been re-designed to navigate our current pandemic situation.
What’s the story? A Zoomcast
Coming this fall I am inviting photographers into my zoomroom to discuss your photographs and dig for the story. These feedback sessions will not be your average critique but one solely intended to see if we can read your photographs as you intended them to be read and how well it comes across. This is available for subscription.
2021 workshops coming soon!

I would like to acknowledge that the land on which I live is the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg People. The Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on their territory.
Hello, I’m Kristine, and I teach through stories.
This year, it’s a lot. I say that recognising that a lot to me may look different from a lot to you, and this year has also been about recognising that everyone’s loads are different. My aim with my education is to meet you where you are, both photographically and emotionally.
It is a sad year. I miss bumping into people and saying “sorry.” I miss hugging people I barely know. I miss the normal we once knew, but am also hopeful for the normal we are creating. In the meantime I try to smile at people through masks made from leftover fabric and make my intentions known.
I have been a photographer since 1998 and made it my living since 2002, as a photographer, sometimes writer and also editor.
I’ve been telling stories since I was a small human and telling stories through photographs is my happy place. This happy place is where I have made space for you this fall. Please reach out if you have any questions!
Kind words
Chelsea Silbereis, USA
I was very surprised that Kristine’s process felt very straightforward but that it changed my picture making almost without me knowing it. Which was very surprising and lovely.
Katie Jett Walls, USA
Kristine’s ability to translate her expertise into guidance for her students is unmatched. Her courses are carefully and throughly designed and delivered. Anyone who puts in the work will see results and feel proud of their progress. She’s nurturing and practical and super fun to be around.
Aniya Emtage Legnaro, Barbados
The second she came on my screen it was as though all my fears went away. Kristine was so so incredibly kind, extremely knowledgeable, asked hard questions which I needed and had never thought about. She guided me through how to shoot the essay to draw the most impact and best of all? She was excited for me. Kristine then sent me a bunch of links to work that she knew would resonate with me and BINGO. It did. I cannot wait to work more with Kristine. Thank you girl.
Margareth Albaugh, USA
Kristine has deconstructed the necessary components for a good photo-story and has created this amazing workshop for building a story that matters to you. She helps you understand how you can tell a story with more humanity and detail while also meeting you where you are in your photographic journey. While her workshop has helped me identify ways I can be a better photographer, I think my biggest takeaway is how she has helped me really see my subjects with humanity to tell their stories with dignity.
Katie Zamykal, Australia
You will love being a student of Kristine’s not only for her knowledge and experience, but the way she delivers and cares for her students. Her classes feel like a beautiful safe place to learn and grow.
Francesca Angelini, Italy
Kristine is a really strong photographer and she’s able to push everyone to do their best. She’s able to help other photographers in exceeding their main problems.
