Newsletter - On time...
Hey,
Time. There's just never enough.
I try to make friends with time, but it's a complicated relationship.
First, I tend to know exactly how much I have available and try to adjust my expectations and workload accordingly. Second, I know time will always give me anxiety, so when I feel it running away I slow down to savour it. As it turns out that has made me more efficient.
And third. I stopped doing many things. Like thinking I need to know all the things. I turned off the radio a few years ago, mainly because I didn’t want my kids to hear what came out of it, but also because my day has a lot of noise already. It changed so much. Not only did it quiet my environment but it also quieted my brain.
I do have some tools to help me conquer time. Currently my bullet journal is how I get most things done. It has all the things: my schedule, my kids' schedule, my spouse's schedule, my to-dos, my brain dumps, my notes on life, my doodles. It's been very helpful. I like to organise, but I'm not a fan of the digital calendar. For some reason it never jived with my workflow, so my daily to-dos have always been kept analog. Last time I visited my parents I found a box filled with old journals, looking through them gave me a glimpse of my past I'm happy to have. I like to collect the past, wether it be through photographs or words.
Time. The best time is right now. I appreciate you spend some of yours reading this.
How do you deal with time? I'd love to hear back from you, just hit reply.
All for now,
Kristine
